I leave Rafe and Darius in the club meeting room when I leave, after talking about some of the prospects. The Devil’s Princes have calmed down and so far, our alliance is working, I hope it stays that way.

But that’s the last thing on my mind. The club in general has taken a back burner, finally, and all I can focus on is Chantal. She’s so easy to be around, funny and kind, with just the right amount of flair to offset my sometimes boring nature. She’s even played scrabble with me a few times. I like hanging out with her, being friends, even though I want more. So much more.

I’m not emotionally damaged, screwed up by my ex, I have just learned to be cautious. Chantal is bright and kind, and I know that she likes me, but that can only go so far. She could grow bored or something and I just want to protect myself as best I can, without hurting her in the process by leading her on.

Anyway, I still help her out, these past few weeks she has transformed into this independent, intelligent person I didn’t know was hiding underneath her. But I like it either way. I get excited to see her every time we make plans, and I’m helping her move in today. After I stop by the bank, which has never been the same, I head to the shop to see her. I tried to get Jeannine to stop calling me Spin but she only promised she wouldn’t tell Chantal why they call me that. That works for now.

But I show up, and see her, and I lose my shit. Chantal has on this tight orange tee shirt that hugs at all her curves, her shapely waist and full breasts, it makes her look like a fucking nectarine that I could very well suck every ounce of juice out of. I keep my hard on at bay though and try to keep it professional as I walk out with her.

“How was your day?” Chantal puts the helmet on, smiling at me. I grin internally and then at her.

“Pretty damn boring. Had to go to the bank.” I get up close to her and realize one wrong move will send me out of my limits for self control.

“Nothing exciting ever happens at the bank.” She giggles.

I smile at her joke and then we get going. Most of her stuff is already there, but I know she doesn’t know much about installing a bed. I’m glad she found this place; it is better than living at the club. I helped her squelch her budget for a down payment and first months rent. Her job at the shop pays enough to cover her rent, until she gets a permanent job. But she has been helping a lot with the social media and branding, getting us more customers. I think she is good at it and I don’t say that just so she won’t go anywhere.

“I have no idea how to install this.
